Organizational Overview

Eldorado Run for the Cure

Since its inception in 1979, the Colorado Cancer Foundation (CCF) has worked hard to raise funds in support of technicians, physicians, researchers, and, most importantly, patients seeking cancer treatment at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, and the greater State of Colorado. One of the CCF's largest events is the annual Eldorado Run for the Cure, a four-mile out-and-back foot race held every August at Eldorado Canyon State Park south of Boulder, CO.

Minimal Overhead

The CCF has minimal overhead, so nearly every dollar raised through events, such as the annual Eldorado Run for the Cure, goes directly to oncology treatment and research at the University of Colorado's (CU) Division of Medical Oncology, located at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO.

Local Partnerships

The Colorado Cancer Foundation's Board of Directors, in collaboration with numerous volunteers and corporate partners, including, Pasta Jay's, Satire Brewing, and Eldorado Springs Water, hosts the annual Eldorado Run for the Cure at Eldorado Canyon State Park outside of Boulder, CO.

GrassRoots Effort

Over the decades, CCF fundraising efforts have also included months-long cycling expeditions across the United States, Europe, Australia, Asia, Africa, and South America, raising valuable resources for cancer patients, research scientists, and physicians treating those in need of life-saving treatment.

Curative Pursuits

"In pursuit of a cure, cyclist Stan Havlick crosses six continents to benefit the Colorado Cancer Foundation. It was 2004, and Havlick and three teammates were cycling coast-to-coast across Africa, a 3,000-mile journey that would deliver them from Cape Town." - Boulder Weekly
